On May 17, 2022, Ma Jinhua, supervision commissioner of the People’s Government of Sichuan Province and Party secretary of the CPC Sichuan College of Applied Sciences Committee, Luo Kailian, consultant director of the Standing Committee of Xichang Municipal People"s Congress, Wu Fang, vice chairman of the Xichang Municipal Committee of the Chinese People"s Political Consultative Conference, as well as officials from Sichuan University of Science and Engineering and representatives from SEGi University & Colleges visited our university to attend a meeting to discuss the inter-university cooperation between Xichang University and Segi University & Colleges. The meeting was also attended by Chen Xiaohu, member of the standing committee of the CPC XCU committee and vice-president of the university, Shen Liangjie, member of the standing committee of the CPC XCU committee and head of the Propaganda Department and the United Front Work Department of the university, and officials from the university also attended the meeting.

　　Ma Jinhua expressed his affirmation of the achievements of Xichang University in international exchange and cooperation in recent years. He said that local private institutions should break the conventional thinking of international exchange and cooperation development and pioneer innovation in order to achieve a bend in the road. He hoped that in the future, through the international exchange and cooperation platform set up by Xichang Unversity and SEGi University & Colleges, the local government could strengthen communication with local institutions and boost the employment development of local minority talents in Liangshan.

　　Luo Kailian expressed her gratitude to Xichang University and SEGi & College for their intellectual support for local development. She pointed out that Liangshan has a long history of foreign exchange and cooperation, and hoped that all parties should pool their efforts to inherit the fruits of foreign cultural exchange left by their ancestors, and to push Xichang to new heights in building an international city of ecological and idyllic history and culture.

　　Chen Xiaohu, vice-president of the university, introduced international exchanges and cooperation of XCU in recent years. He also hoped that in the future, the university and the local government could work hand in hand, deepen exchanges and cooperation, and open a new chapter of integrated development.

　　At the meeting, Sima Weiping, deputy dean of the School of Civil Engineering of Sichuan University of Science and Engineering, shared his experience on how local universities and local governments can give full play to their respective strengths to achieve a win-win situation in international exchange and cooperation. Huang Shuoteng, director of International Programmes in International Marketing Department in SEGi University & College, briefed on Master’s degree programmes and doctoral degree programmes in SEGi in terms of programme duration, academic curricular, and general entry requirements.

　　Before the meeting, Ma Jinhua and other officials also visited our modern agricultural innovation and entrepreneurship practice base and the school history museum to learn about the history of the university and the cultivation of talents.
